Refashionized local piloting sessions at Lottozero’s Headquarters!

The local piloting sessions within the framework of the Refashionized project were held at Lottozero’s headquarters in Via Arno 10 Prato, Italy. These sessions aimed to equip trainers and youth educators with knowledge and practical tools to explore the intersection of fashion and sustainability. The training was an integral part of the Refashionized project.
The sessions took place from November 25-29, 2024. Trainers, creative professionals and artists from the European Creative Hubs Network (ECHN), representing diverse countries across Europe, participated in this initiative. The facilitators for the sessions were Elena Ianeselli, Arianna Moroder, and Federica Valli, all key figures from Lottozero.
On the first day of the local piloting, participants were warmly welcomed into the world of Refashionized. They got an insider’s view of the project’s mission and goals, diving into the Trainer’s Corner resources like the History of Fashion and Sustainable Fashion booklets. The day wrapped up with a lively group discussion where participants shared their thoughts and brainstormed creative ways to bring these resources to life in their own workshops.
Day two was all about rolling up our sleeves! Participants took on the “Redesign Your Garment” challenge from the Sustainable Fashion Booklet. They examined their garments with fresh eyes, considering their production, materials, and sustainability. The session buzzed with creativity as ideas for sustainable redesigns flowed freely—proof that fashion and innovation go hand in hand!
The third day brought an in-depth look at training materials. Participants explored activity sheets and workshop plans, diving into tools designed to inspire and educate. The highlight? The “One Word Reflection” activity, which sparked meaningful conversations and provided plenty of ideas to enhance future sessions.
The grand finale was a hands-on upcycling workshop in the Lottozero textile lab. From patchwork to embroidery to needle punching, participants experimented with these creative techniques and crafted their own samples. The room was alive with creativity, and everyone left with not just tangible creations but a spark of inspiration to bring these activities into their own educational programs.
Participants positively evaluated the sessions for their engaging structure and comprehensive content. The combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on activities was particularly appreciated. Suggestions included pacing the material more gradually and incorporating additional visuals to enhance engagement. Overall, the sessions successfully inspired trainers to incorporate sustainable fashion concepts into their educational practices.
Looking Ahead, Refashionized remains committed to supporting educators in fostering sustainable practices within the fashion industry. Stay tuned for more updates and training opportunities!
